Professor Ifechukwude Anthony Odiwe

Professor

Professor I. A. Odiwe research work provides important ecological insights into biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable land-use planning in Osun State and comparable tropical landscapes. His research integrates field ecology, vegetation analysis, and geospatial approaches to elucidate how land-use change, flooding regimes, and other environmental drivers shape species diversity, forest structure, and ecosystem function. His contributions include empirical evidence on the impacts of agriculture, logging, and urban expansion on riparian vegetation, insights into disturbance – biodiversity relationships in flood-influenced forests, and assessments of forest composition and carbon stocks relevant to climate change mitigation.
