AROGUNDADE Oluwabunmi Okerinmola (née Okeesan), Ph.D. (Botany) is an Associate Professor of Plant Taxonomy whose research integrates morphological, anatomical, palynological, numerical, ecological, biochemical, and molecular evidence to resolve plant classification and phylogenetic relationships. Her work has generated first reports in Nigeria on pollen, foliar and wood anatomy, and numerical taxonomy across diverse genera including Ocimum, Talinum, Mussaenda, Caesalpinia, Aglaonema, Dieffenbachia, Alocasia, Colocasia, Xanthosoma, Bryophyllum, Kalanchoe, Plectranthus, and Bougainvillea. She has applied molecular data to reconstruct phylogeny within Araceae and advanced understanding of taxonomic characters in several taxa. Her ethnobotanical studies document medicinal plants used in Ile-Ife (Osun State) as well as plants used in treating viral infections in the southwestern states of NIgeria. Her collaborative work has characterized bioactive and nutritional properties of _Cucurbita pepo_ and Nigerian cowpea varieties. Her contributions demonstrate the value of multi-evidence taxonomy in refining plant classification and biodiversity knowledge.
